Faceless Friday 7/24/26

Hello friends!! I know I have been MIA! It is really hard to share a computer with a little gamer boy during the summer months! Luckily he is still sleeping so I have a moment to catch you up on some Faceless Friday happenings! Welcome back!  Let’s see what has been rocking my face off this summer!

Clicking back in. That is the only way I can describe it, and I think it has to do with CERN and I am being completely serious.  As soon as they shut all of their shit down my brain went all “Oh, okay, let’s lock in” and now my house is clean, I have been cooking again, taking care of myself, doing things… idk I feel more like me than I have in a long time.  And having a clean house has been fucking amazing. And now the kiddo has had friends spend the night, and the cousins.  And it just feels good to feel like a person again instead of someone witnessing a life that they don’t have control of.  That rocks my face off.

The Racoon Army.  Every summer I put out bowls of water for all the wildlife on the properly because of the weather. No matter what they always seem to come up and enjoy the bowls closest to the house the most, which is awesome because then I can watch them better on the camera system.  This is how I discovered The Racoon Army and that they were coming and cleaning up old cat food left out for the feral cats.  They were also dumping my ash can and scattering my cigarette butts all over the damn place… so I started feeding them leftovers.  There are 9 of them, and it is one of my biggest joys right now to watch all their shenanigans every night.  The feral cats, racoons and groundhogs all have an eating schedule now and it’s hilarious seeing them rotate out.  And yes, I’m going to keep feeding them random stuff because if I don’t they cross the road and I am not one for scooping up dead things from pavement.  So, all the critters rock my face off.

The kiddo.  We haven’t really gotten to do our summer fun list because of the extreme heat but we have really enjoyed what we have done.  New computer games, slip and slide, swimming at my brothers, watching movies and playing games.  It has been a good summer and eight is such an interesting age.  Still a little kid in so many ways, but also a big kid in so many as well.  His sense of humor and vocabulary keep growing and he catches me off guard with how witty he is all of the time.  And his heart is SO big.  I feel so blessed to be his mom and watch his life unfold.  That kid always rocks my face off.

And those are the major highlights thus far! I know, not that exciting (thankfully).  I hope that I am in my quiet old lady era finally.  I deserve that.  Let’s finish up with the quick list of everything else that has been rocking my face off:

Coffee, creamer, cold brew coffee, my new mumu, Josie girl, the cats, good face wash, dawn dish soap, peppermint essential oils, my brothers, my plants making it through the heat, air conditioning so I could make it through the heat, really good pens, gel nail polish, being able to do my own lashes and hair at home, vitamins that help regulate lil man’s brain, clean laundry, Shark vacuums, tens units, dreams, K18 hair stuff, naps, forcing myself to drink water, really good vitamins, really good pain pills, giving myself grace in times and places when I wouldn’t have in the past, feeling the need to create again, really wanting to finish my book, and YOU dear reader.  I am so grateful you joined me again, you always rock my face off.
