It is Friday. That means it is time for Faceless Friday. If you are new here, Faceless Friday is where I list out all of the things that have rocked my face off in the past week. I have found in my life that an attitude of gratitude, as cheesy as that sounds, really can make a huge difference, especially when your world (or the actual world) is on fire. Please join me for this week’s installment and let me know what has rocked YOUR face off!! And as a reminder, because the world is full of complete bullshit and vileness, when things are really hard we don’t have to make finding gratitude hard too. Those are the times we look at the “small” things. Running water, the sun, a bird you saw, the way a spider web glistened in the morning dew and gave you a moment to appreciate nature, the way a friend sends you videos that match your personality, or even your bed, breath, the thought of HAVING gratitude, it all matters. It all makes a difference. YOU make a difference. Welcome back to Faceless Friday. Let’s rock our faces off.
Not throwing my computer out the fucking door and or stomping it. I have had Microsoft Word FOREVER. I purchased it one million years ago when I decided I was going to write. I didn’t subscribe to anything or whatever. I put in my email, purchased WORD and installed the fucker. I have used that WORD program for a long time… apparently too long because yesterday when I opened up my laptop there was absolutely NO trace of anything of the sort on it. My book gone. My notes for a friend’s book? Gone. Notes for a second book? Gone. All gone. A year or more of work uninstalled. Upon completion of a pretty gnarly meltdown I looked into it. My version of WORD is no longer supported and the version I was apparently using was a trial and was expired so was taken off by Microsoft. (I have never felt as old as in that moment btw) So…. Cool, cool. I redownloaded the fucking nonsense and got all my shit back (and promptly saved it all in pdf form). So, now I either shell out the hundo (I don’t have) or subscribe to their bullshit. I am so tired of everything in life being a subscription. I miss being able to purchase things and owning it and it just working… forever. Now even the air conditioner wants to link to the wifi. Late stage capitalism sucks balls. ALL of that say I am grateful to have recovered my work. Not completely losing my shit and having patience rocks my face off.
Friends I spoke too soon…
My computer is literally fucking with me right now. I’m not equipped for this right now so let’s just wrap it up with the list!
Other things that have rocked my face off (in no particular order):
coffee, music, animals, women, support, breathing, new outlets, and YOU
